About

Aura is a trauma-informed expressive arts facilitator, certified nursing assistant, yoga teacher, and wellness coach passionate about facilitating therapeutic art, holistic mental health education, and community events to promote wellness and quality of life, particularly for those healing from trauma, addiction, disordered eating, and chronic illness. She believes her mission is to share support and tools for relaxation, comfort, inspiration, and playful transformation.
Aura is an interdisciplinary artist who uses music, dance, painting, poetry, and video to thrive amidst her own mental and physical illnesses. She guides a diverse group of people in various settings, including yoga studios, addiction recovery centers, nursing homes, and international retreats. Aura has completed courses in the Graduate Arts in Public Health program at the University of Florida to further develop her offering of the arts for health.
At age 11, Aura intuitively became interested in yoga and meditation as a way to soothe herself from trauma and anxiety-related health issues. Since then she has dedicated her life to exploring the intersection of health and wellness, psychology, art, and spirituality. Over the last 20 years, she has studied various transformational tools such as yoga, meditation, mindfulness, nutrition, holistic medicine, massage, therapeutic dance, art, music, and more. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Photocommunications at St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX where she studied multimedia art and discovered the healing power of creative expression and community. In healing her chronic illness, she realized the importance of stress management and artistic expression for health and well-being.
Aura has traveled to the US, Europe, and South America documenting and studying various types of healing from indigenous medicine and music ceremonies in Peru to cutting-edge color light therapies in Canada. She lived and worked at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, the largest yoga retreat center in North America where she deepened her studies and practice of yoga, therapeutic dance and art, conscious communication, emotional skills, stress-management, nutrition, and neuroscience of trauma. She trained with one of the founders of Kripalu, PremShakti, to become a 200-hr Registered Yoga Teacher continuing her education in Yin and Restorative Yoga as well as Danyasa, a fusion of yoga, dance, expressive arts, and feminine wisdom.
Aura now incorporates her passions, education, and experiences as a wellness coach, educator, and performer bringing art and wellness education, holistic therapies, and interactive entertainment into healthcare settings where she has seen the incredible benefits of mindfulness and the arts for both mental and physical health.
Aura also teaches in yoga studios, coaches privately, and leads retreats to help people heal from trauma through embodiment, empowerment, and expression. Her deepest desire as a facilitator is to share the practices that have helped her on her journey in a safe, deep, yet relaxing and playful way. She aims to assist those struggling with mental and physical illness who are seeking not only to survive but to thrive in creating a life of true authenticity and fulfillment.

Aura provides a deeply healing, creative, and supportive presence. When my mom was faced with the scary situation of rehabilitating away from family during COVID times, Aura's presence gave our entire family peace of mind, knowing that someone who genuinely cared was looking out for her best interests.

Prior to this year, I had never taken a yoga class. My neighbor recommended Aura, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I've made in my life. Aura has a wealth of knowledge and makes every session meaningful and rewarding. I always feel better after each session, and I can see a lot of the benefits. I would never believe how I feel about yoga now, and it is because of Aura's teaching. She is very patient and dedicated to her craft. Her communication and encouragement motivates me, and she really makes a difference in the world.
